I haven't seen anything like this

Seems to give me audio but no video.

Are you presuming my PVR 350 is on /dev/video0?  Because it's on /dev/video4

If I try
dd if=/dev/video4 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k

then no, it doesn't work.
