Hi Paul -

I have a different card (Adaptec VideOh! AVC-2010) but based on the same
chipset as yours (CX23415/6), and using the same driver, with no issues
under 2.6.25.4-10.fc8 (Fedora).

Caveat: I'm afraid I know very little about Gentoo.

Was the card working for you under a previous kernel (e.g. 2.6.24.7)?
If so, perhaps you forgot to undate your ivtv kernel drivers when you
upped the kernel verison....?

If you use RPM to install packages, try doing this:

$ rpm -qa | grep ivtv

You should get somethign similar to this:
        ivtv-devel-1.0.3-136.fc8
        ivtv-kmdl-2.6.25.4-10.fc8-1.0.3-136.fc8
        xorg-x11-drv-ivtv-1.0.1-2.fc8
        ivtv-firmware-20070217-17
        perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-8.fc8
        ivtv-1.0.3-136.fc8

(although of course your versions should be for Gentoo not Fedora). You
can probably ignore the perl-Video-ivtv package unless yo specificaly
need it).

Note in particular that the version of the ivtv-kmdl package needs to
match your kernel.

Apologies if I am teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs here...

Krgds, M
