I'm running ubuntu 8.10 but have always rolled my own kernel from clean
kernel.org sources. I haven't seen anyone else report this, so I wonder there
might be some new setting in kernel 2.6.28 that I'm missing somewhere. Any help
appreciated. This has been driving me crazy for days.

My current working kernel is 2.6.26.1 and ivtvfb works great.

I downloaded 2.6.28 sources from kernel.org, make oldconfig (answer all
defaults), make, make install. The machine boots fine with the new 2.6.28
kernel. However, when I start X on the /dev/fb0 framebuffer (pvr350) the colors
are all washed out and the resolution looks very low ... like maybe it's
running 640x400 with just 256 colors or something. Under myth some previously
recorded videos come up very low res and the colors all washed-out. Other
videos only show a blue screen, though audio continues to work fine. I normally
run myth with no window manager, but xfce alone (no myth) also looks very low
resolution.

For kicks I did the same steps with 2.6.27.6 sources from kernel.org (make
oldconfig, make, make install) and everything worked great: myth came up with
full colors and full resolution under the 2.6.27.6 kernel. xfce also looked
fine.

I've experimented with the module parameters (osd_depth, osd_xres, osd_yres)
but the output always looks the same under 2.6.28 with or without parameters. I
don't see any errors when enabling debug. I can post the debug output or the
kernel .config if would help.
