This sounds like an ivtv base issue, like your card isn't tuned to a station, this has happened to a lot of folks, try an lspci, if the card shows then use ivtv-tune. The script below should get you something.
#! /bin/bash ivtv-tune -c 3 -d /dev/video0 v4l2-ctl --set-audio-input 0 -d /dev/video0 --set-audio-output /dev/audio mplayer -vo xv /dev/video0 -autosync 30 Thank you, Mark F. (Not sure if people just aren't getting back to the list or what). Anyway, I'd really like to get this to work again :) Here is the detection from dmesg: [ 8.964309] ivtv: Start initialization, version 1.4.0 [ 8.964510] ivtv0: Initializing card #0 [ 8.964516] ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23415 based) [ 9.008082] ivtv 0000:02:09.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21 [ 9.008097] ivtv0: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32) [ 9.061650] ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 [ 9.937797] saa7115 0-0021: saa7115 found (1f7115d0e100000) @ 0x42 (ivtv i2c driver #0) [ 10.497222] saa7127 0-0044: saa7127 found @ 0x88 (ivtv i2c driver #0) [ 10.510791] msp3400 0-0040: MSP4448G-A2 found @ 0x80 (ivtv i2c driver #0) [ 10.513538] tuner 0-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (ivtv i2c driver #0) [ 10.638629] ivtv0: Registered device video0 for encoder MPG (4096 kB) [ 10.638680] ivtv0: Registered device video32 for encoder YUV (2048 kB) [ 10.638723] ivtv0: Registered device vbi0 for encoder VBI (1024 kB) [ 10.638765] ivtv0: Registered device video24 for encoder PCM (320 kB) [ 10.638807] ivtv0: Registered device radio0 for encoder radio [ 10.638849] ivtv0: Registered device video16 for decoder MPG (1024 kB) [ 10.638893] ivtv0: Registered device vbi8 for decoder VBI (64 kB) [ 10.638935] ivtv0: Registered device vbi16 for decoder VOUT [ 10.638983] ivtv0: Registered device video48 for decoder YUV (1024 kB) [ 10.638988] ivtv0: Initialized card #0: Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 [ 10.639244] ivtv: End initialization doing a dmesg | ivtv I'm seeing some of this:[ 26.866394] ivtv0: Loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (376836 bytes) [ 26.891332] ivtv0: Loaded v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw firmware (262144 bytes) [ 27.088352] ivtv0: Encoder revision: 0x02060039 [ 27.088483] ivtv0: Decoder revision: 0x02020023 [ 27.151554] ivtv0: Loaded v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg firmware (155648 bytes) I don't see anything from ivtv1 in your trace.
