I have tried a couple of solutions:

1. I received an email recommending going back to FC2. I tried that, but
then neither TV-Out or capture worked.

2. I went back to FC3, bought a nVidia GeForce FX5200, and the output of
that worked immediately. The capture still did not work.
/var/log/messages indicated that tveeprom was not loaded, so I had to
add the following line to /etc/modprobe.conf:
alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv
Sound did not work either, so I renamed the msp3400 like Wilson
describes. That did not do it, so I added the option line from his FC2
guide to modprobe.conf and then sound worked too.

I did receive an email recommending applying a patch to make the TV-Out
on the PVR-350 work. Maybe somebody else can use that information so,
here is the email:
-----------
Shortly after I emailed you I finally figured the problem out and got my
PVR-350 S-video TV-Out working under X, after lots of trying. (When I
emailed before I had the test pattern working, the dd video in/out
working, but only the 'X' w/ the lower lines under X.) It turns out that
FC3 uses a new udev-type thing which leaves the hardware in a weird
state and gives ivtv trouble. John Harvey posted a small patch on 1/9/05
on the ivtv-devel list to fix this (subject '[PATCH] udev/fc3 x not
starting patch'). You'll find the details here:

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/ivtv/devel/16645?search_string=pat
ch%20starting;#16645

I'm not sure if this will fix your problem, but it fixed mine.
---------------

BTW I am using ivtv V.0.3.2c from at-testing and kernel 2.6.9-1.724 now.

Subject: [Ivtv-users] Can almost start X on PVR-350

I have trouble running X via the output of the PVR-350.
I have been following Jarod Wilsons MythTV guide for FC3.
I have a new PVR-350 (where tda9887=0 is necessary) and I can capture
video. My xorg.conf is Jarods modified with the correct PCI-bus id in
decimal and with the glx module commented out. When I start the PC, X
refuses to start because the framebuffer is missing. I then login,
'modprobe ivtv' and 'startx' and then the session hangs. The TV shows a
X cursor in the middle and horizontal gray lines in the lower half of
the display. The monitor (connected to a Radeon card) shows a message
telling that the X configuration is wrong. I have looked in mailing
lists and I am not sure if anyone has made the TV output of the new
PVR-350 work. So my questions are now:

1. Has anyone made the TV output of the new PVR-350 work ?
2. Has anyone made it work on FC3 ?
3. Should I try to go back to FC2 instead ?
4. Should I buy a nVidia FX5200 instead ?

My xorg.conf can be found on http://niels.dybdahl.dk/public/xorg.conf
and my modprobe.conf can be found on
http://niels.dybdahl.dk/public/modprobe.conf

Best regards
