You need to supply a bit more information so we can help you. What
version of ivtv? PAL or NTSC? What ivtv specific details do you have
in /etc/modprobe.conf?

Finally, get the ivtv stuff from your log. Use the following command to get it:

tac /var/log/messages |
sed -n '/=\ \ END INIT IVTV\ \ =/,/= START INIT IVTV =/p;
    /= START INIT IVTV =/q' |
tac
