Hi Joseph,
Within your previous mail, you wrote following,

"Yep, OpenJDK Java 8 works; it supports the 1.3 source and target versions".

Are you planning to suggest that, we should have Java version 1.3
compatibility for XalanJ 2.7.3? If that is true, then we won't be able
to use latest XercesJ release (2.12.2, which was built with Java 1.7).
I believe that, to be able to use XercesJ 2.12.2 with XalanJ 2.7.3,
XalanJ 2.7.3 needs to use Java 1.7 (ideally), but we might use Java
1.8 with XalanJ 2.7.3 as well.

I think, Gary suggested earlier, to use Java 1.8 with XalanJ 2.7.3,
and I as well agree to that.

Please note that, Java 1.7 is synonym for Java 7, and Java 1.8 is
synonym for Java 8.

Any thoughts, please.
