With that said, the current developers use primarily Windows and/or Oracle JDK, so the probability that it works with Oracle and produces bug reports for OpenJDK can be expected to be higher than the opposite.
Therefore, being an active OpenJDK tester will be much appreciated (as well as OSX tester). Now, platform-related issues are most commonly found after the releases. Maybe one should even try to set up small "teams" of testers (as in receiving an email saying: "I've implemented this feature now, can you see if it works for you, here's the binary."). I can easily outline the following: OpenJDK, OSX, SQL, and OpenOffice/LibreOffice, where the current developers are not regular users and could benefit of some more "advanced" testing/in-depth knowledge of how it should work.
