Right - I guess this is my line of thinking : why won't Ant do this?
I think the spirit behind the openness of the sandbox is that its to be
a place for people to freely collaborate in the incubation and beginning
development of an idea, and also is a place for developers from multiple
Jakarta projects to come together to work on something in common - then
they either take it back home to one of the projects, or make into a
commons component if appropos.
The intent, of many anyway, was not be a holding tank for software with
no other home.

Can they set up their own sandbox? The sandbox idea is a good one, and
there is no reason why projects can't do their own if they have
project-specific needs. An Ant task seems pretty Ant-specific. :)

I don't think its a good idea to even implicitly release something out
of the sandbox.... we've been over this a bit, if I remember.

Yes.

How about somewhere in the Ant project? :)
