cool down ... :-)
For once, I have not said you should accept whatever Rodney has done ! I
already said that we should review each item Rodney has done and state when
we do not agree but on a point by point basis, not just saying "I don't like
it". Then if there are points you don't like (I am sure there will be some)
you state them on the list, we discuss and vote and remove them if we agree
they are not needed. Normally, we would agree before committing the changes
and I completely agree with this ... However, Rod has already done quite a
lot of changes. I believe most are ok. However for those that are not, let's
discuss them and if we decide they should not make it to 2.0 then we don't
commit them on the 2.0 branch or we undo them. Also, the code in the 2.x bra
nch is not automatically released and we can voice any opinion before the
actual release. How do other projects work ? Someone makes a change. Another
person says it is breaking something or doesn't like it for such and such
reason, the change is undone. However, I believe it is good practice to ask
for other's opinion before knowingly making a change that breaks something
...
Then, this is only my idea. I have only a small voice here. And I am waiting
for others to speak up. I'm just trying to find a solution ... ! :)
