Hi, 2008/9/5, Sebastien LELONG <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > > No serial_hardware.jal is not used just a simple routine > > OK, I've no time right now to have a look, but maybe it's better to use > existing serial_hardware.jal. See sample to understand how to use it. If this is about the rtc-interface: it has it's own protocol, not async serial. So serial_hardware is usefull in the example but not in the lib.

It says two interesting things: * the controller is hd44780 compatible. This means it should work in 4-bit mode with lcd.jal. It would be nice if you could very this. If it does not work, there are probably small changes required in the init-procedure which IMHO should be added to lcd.jal. * the controller supports i2c interface, a great feature since it does only require 2 io lines. A lib for this controller in i2c mode is worth while on it's own. But... it should use the i2c libs of jallib and not contain it's own i2c routines. These libs are not yet available but I'll start working on these routines shortly. The interface will be close to i2c_hardware routines of Stef. So use this for now if you can. Joep PS I could not find this display at Conrad.nl.
