Hum... I spoke too fast... Can't use _usec_delay because it requires a const. One delay statement uses a variable (_adc_conversion_time) dependent from the R source (conversion/acquisition time).
This variable is set once, in the _ad_init_general() procedure. I could make the lib compute it at each acquisition, instead of let it computed _ad_init_general() and store the result in the global _adc_conversion_time variable, but it might be overkill...
