My own extreme opinion is that if a small group of people want overly strict cosmetic rules on Libraries, then those people should be prepared to "edit" code to their standard.
But the preferable route would be good strict rules that are more flexible. Also the bigger issue is the overall structure and naming conventions. How or who decides this? Do we know how many people use the libraries? Is there a mailing list (apart from this high noise level list) that tells them of changes to a library that might break (or fix) their code?
