Hi,

I have one of these:
http://www.allekabels.nl/Soldeer-Producten/102/1019485/soldeerbout-wtcp.html
Bought it second hand over 20 years ago and added the base station
myself. No variable temperature (well, it does when you change the
tip), but solid temperature control so much power for heavy work but
no overheating. Different sizes of tips available.
If it would break down, I'll buy a similar one (or one with variable
temperature control if I can afford it).

Joep
