Hey all The professor who teaches me the Coarse 'Microprocessors', asked me to show the usb example. He wants to use usb during some lab sessions, but since all the libraries from microchip (that is in C) are just too complex for first-timers, he found it remarkable that I got it working this easily (even though it was just an example program!).
He didn't know JAL, so I sent him some links. Maybe he finds the time one day to implement it in the lab sessions. He was also wondering about the inner workings of the library (and since I don't know much about usb yet, I was too); so we did a little research. He told me things about End Points, the different modes with usb (JAL does interrupt - for very small packets; and burst mode - that collects the data and send it in one packet ??) Then he was wondering what the speed was. So we just kept on sending packages, and at the same rate toggling leds. The smallest period we measured was 1µs, which means speed is very good! But while testing this, the process of sending sometimes just stopped. Any idea why this happens? Also, I first tried Termite as a terminal program, but that wouldn't work (and it does with an arduino). Only when using realterm (and in Java) I succeeded in talking with the pic.
