I think RF12B is the chip alone, RFM12B is the module including the chip
(and xtal, etc...)

Surprisingly there's no RF12B modules using (quite popular) Xbee form factor
(whereas there are bluetooth, serial, usb and zigbee of course). Maybe we
could design one, that would interchangeable with any xbee socket based
module.
