Hi William, Yes the modules I use is the RFM12B. The chip the the software talks to is RF12b. The RFM12B are produced in differt version that is: frequency range and connection technology. I got my hand on the ones with pins working in the 430 MHz range. Not because this was my preference, but they where easy to get in Wouters webshop (www.voti.nl). So not the same freq. band as you module but there is one on the market. Only one stetting made in the init procedure should be set different.
I am not sure that the RFM12B are "my prefered ones" in future project because during the RFM12B project, a RFM70 became also deliverable in that web-shop. I am currently working to get these running. These use the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Do not have a wire sticking out as antenna but the antenna is printed on the module, and more communication support functions in the module's chip. Summary: Not compatible with RFM12, much higher data-rate, more functionality in the module so less in the control software. But: A lot to study and understand to program the driver, and because of different antennas, the range may be less than for the RFM12B. When finishes and successfull I will let the community know.
