So, it doesn't compile at all with -no-variable-reuse? Should I report
this to kyle?
I don't know! I have one of your FAT32 sample now compiling for about 15
minutes: 1 processor 100% occupied and no disk-I/O. The problem must be
in the method of memory allocation for variables.
This seems to be done in a special way: the compiler doesn't even react
on a Ctrl-Break signal from the keyboard, nor can the process be
'killed' via task management.
Kyle is well aware of the problem, it has been reported several times
here and in Jallist.
What is the difference in time between using ram disk and not?
The difference is hardly measurable! When running with harddisk the
harddisk light goes on only once a second or so (probably helped by a
large cache for harddisk- I/O with JFS file system).
Regards, Rob.
