D'accord. I'd propose to leave the naming as it is, it's established and works for development. I would then provide an additional list, which is sorted by the name of the sample without the device ID, and without duplicates. This list only has 166 entries. This is read quickly. Then, knowing part of the desired sample file's name, a user can easily find a particular sample file.
