I had seen differences in the (default) config bits settings. The
patterns come (for most PICs) straight from the MPLAB-X files. It is
fairly low at my priority list to see which effect that would have.
I suppose the differences in Asm and Hex files may come from different
sequence of shadow bytes and pseudo variables. This should be harmless
for programs, but that's what makes comparison with previous device
files a challenge!
Can you provide a device for 18f27j53 so I can test several samples on
my jaluino bee board ?

Please remember to use compiler 2.4q-beta (because of the changed use of
'shared' in the device files). You may encounter compiler errors ('skip
error' or 'branch error'). These are the only compile-timer errors left
with the samples: 15 samples don't compile and all with this kind of
errors. Kyle is working on this issue.
