I FIGURED it out.....jeez! it turned out that httpd had been installed as default
confguration from the factory. So, whenever I started Apache, httpd was already
running and had taken over the http requests! Shoot....
thanks for all the help! I hope to help others as I learn more and more. First shot at
UNIX for me...
