There's a lot of issues with Qt licensing. The free alternative is
GNOME, http://www.gnome.org/. If someone gets serious about doing a
port please consider the two platforms, in particular license issues.

Doesn't all this toolkit stuff get easier with Java 1.2 and Swing?
