This message is for Uncle George -

We have been using jdk117_v2 very successfully on the Alpha for some
time now, and are moving towards the 2.2 kernel, and the complete
RedHat 6.0 system. Unfortunately, the JDK we have is linked to the
older libraries (glibc 2.0.x), while RH6 uses the newer vintage (glibc
2.1.x).

Could you please make available a version of JDK for the new
kernel/libs? We would like to stick with the v1.1.x JDK (I guess
1.1.8 is the latest), since 1.2 is so bloated, and fonts are such a
pain (we couldn't get them to work at all!).

If resource limitations are involved, please let me know. We can
provide access to a 2.2-based Alpha system, if necessary.

Thanks in advance,
Rich Edwards
