Thanks Mats, your mail got it right-- decrease your burn rate as much as
possible, get a better GC if one is available for your platform and call
System.gc() whenever you know it is a good time (like just before starting an
animation).
It looks like J3D may have a problem with burning memory. Try running
HelloUniverse with -verbose:gc. It gc's every 2-3 seconds on my system. I'll
look into this and file a bug if I can isolate it.
Thanks for pushing on this issue folks-- hopefully we will be able to improve it
on the J3D end also.
