Wow! I just want to say thanks to everyone that responded to my post.

It seems like everyone's ideas fall into two categories. One, learning
3D in general and two, learning Java3D. Most likely any course we would
offer would focus on understanding and using Java3D in real world apps
i.e. programming with the API. The API is documented, and the Java3D
tutorial available at the web site can get most people started, but it
just doesn't go far enough for anyone who is putting together a serious
or exotic Java3D app, such as actually using Java3D for VR or large
scale visualization That's what we would like to teach, real world
development, even including things like hardware issues. Also possibly,
we would want to get together developers that have already written some
Java3D code so they could also share tips/techniques if they wish.

As for general 3D, we could produce materials, something like a
prerequisite for the class, but probably would shy away from trying to
teach a starter course because there is plenty of good information out
there. I believe that 3D graphics in itself is too large a subject to
teach in a day or so, where as an intermediate or advanced Java3D
training course could be.

Again thanks for all the responses and keep 'em coming!
