I'm not interested in using a mac, but our interest for in java2 and j3d are:
  • Huge cheap class libraries.
  • Easier to make portable apps.
Years of experience with java have learned me that java is there for me when I need it. Months of j3d experience have not changed my experience: Customer running on HP-UX, our app using a not named comercial product for 3D visualization, never worked propably on HP-UX. Spent 8 weeks getting basic func. using j3d on Windows, when done HP releases j3d for HP-UX, send my stuff to customer, works fine. I love the stuff, java is not hype, its out there saving asses to developers which don't have world of time and resources (i.e. real world).

Whats this to do with mac? Next week someone using a mac might be a customer...

And anybody know if we ever going to have j3d on Alpha?

I would like to use Java3D on the Mac for both architectural and
scientific visualization.
