You guys need to be careful about checking on the EXACT chip in the laptop. There are
Mobility M1, M2 and M3. Mobility M1 and M2 (sometimes called a Mobility-P)are the ones
that have been in Inspirons and Latitudes for a while. They are Rage based (somewhere
in
the IIcc and Pro vintage) The M3 is Rage 128 based and can support 16M VRAM, it is the
brand spanking new one in the new Apple Powebooks.

I am pretty sure the Rage 128's never made any claims of hardware T&L. So I wouldn't
expect it in the Mobile version. To make matters worse the IBM A20p line has Mobility
M3's
in upper price range and M2's in the lower price range. And the middle A20p's were
mislabeled on the web site and in the sales reps database for a few months. Multiply by
human fallibility and you have confusion.

The only verified Mobility 128 (M3's) are the top of the line A20p's, top of the line
Armada 1800's from Compaq and the soon to be available in 60 days from Dell, Lattitude
C800's.

I am getting my A20p (Win2K) in a day or so. If someone (like Justin) wants me to run a
controlled test on a virgin machine, I will be happy to do so.
