Maybe we should let the maintainers decide whether to allow us here or not ?
Personally, i would prefer it to be on a separate thread, with the most interesting
part re directed here.

Hans

PS : Plus, this list already has a dynamic of its own, and i dont think neither of us
thinks of leaving it :)

SUBJECT: [JAVA3D] MMORPG

Fred... MMORPG means "Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game".
In essence it's a game where hundreds or thousands (or in the case of
Everquest 200,000+) players all interact in a common virtual world.

I'm sure these issues will be of interest to many but it is far from the
"scientific visualization" aspect of Java 3D. A MMORPG needs heavy duty
networking, chat functions, 3D (well for the new stuff to compete with
Everquest), UI, multi-threading (big time), animations, AI.... kind of
like the "ultimate project".

I believe that most of the Java 3D mailing list would be interested in
this information and development and we won't try to keep it secret but
I'm afraid the level of interest would SWAMP this mailing list with
discussion with talk of orcs, MOBs and other terms that might not mean
anything to the rest of the Java 3D community.

My mailbox is rapidly filling up with people wanting to be included...
uh oh... what did I start?
