No one has ever come out and said they had developed a high performance,
flexible avatar system in Java3d. I know some people have worked on them,
but so far no code has been released which can do this. Has some been
written? I believe so, since there that robot war product (referenced
somewhere on this list) is done in Java3d. I know the Glymph project has
been creating such a framework but they have not returned my e-mail, so I do
not know the state of their code. I just tried searching the list server,
but it seems its offline, so I cannot dig up the exact references. I also
believe Shawn at Fullsail is experimenting with this. Perhaps if you baked
him some chocolate chip cookies (my personal weak spot) he would send you a
copy.
