Hi all:

I'm wondering if Java3D has the capabilities to do volume visualization as
in the context of medical imagry where you have a volume sampled in
X,Y,Z and want to show physical properties (i.e. tissue density) in various
colors and levels of opacity in 3D with some form of interpolation between
sample points.

I know you can do shapes and surfaces, and I suspect you can do planar
slices through the volume by using a texture on a plane, but I'm not sure
how you would handle a spatially sampled volume.

Could someone direct me to the appropriate API class(es) or possibly some
code fragments?

Thanks, Dave J.
