This is a VRML file with animation exported from 3d Studio Max:

  http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/shout3d/models/StudioMax_Biped.wrl

It runs with animation with the VRML Loaders and Java3d
and also with Shout3d, a 'pure' Java solution that
works on Windows, Linux, and the Macintosh without a plug-in:

VRML animated with Java3d

VRML animated portably with 'pure' Java, Studio Max BiPed

-- ( double click on "Studio Max BiPed" )-- after it loads.
  - Works best with Netscape, may fail with some VMs.
  - Uses Shout3d 'pure' Java 1.1 ( I can't control what I didn't write).

Post your a small simple file to the web ( in VRML )
if you have trouble and I'll look at it.

  I'm doing Java3d on Linux ( Redhat 7.2 ) with VRML
and it's a great combination, no problems, everthing
is smooth & nice ... and I also do VRML with my own
pure Java solutions which do just what I want ...
and run both as applets & apps and can read & write.
