Hi Hmm I lately discovered something very strange. Why doesn't Java3D support 1D Textures? There are some certain usefull scenarios where you only need 1D Textures instead of 2D which is a waste of memory and bandwidth in this case.
Oh btw I also figured out a good way to add StencilBuffer control to Java3D. Why not add them to the RenderingAttributes you already can control DepthBuffer and AlphaBuffer there so it would be the natural choice to add it too.
