Reagrding vCubes-

Sounds like we have some competing projects
going which is both good and bad. Again,
there is nothing too magical about how everyone
is attempting to do this and I think cooperation/
collaboration is the best model.

I am proposing that we get the vCube meeting
going for Tuesday evening, just to test
how multiple streams work together.

To keep things simple. My student and I will
send our code out on Monday. We use Session
Manager to manage the streams. Our code
determines the number of active streams and
then loads up the appropriate number of cubes.

Is there anyone out there who can leave
their stream on over the weekend so we can
test? We will leave ours running as well.
If we could get four participants to leave
their cameras on and waste the bandwidth
all weekend, that would be most helpful.

Today, I would like to receive from one
person remotely. Anybody willing to
setup today? If so, email me your phone
number and I will call you to work through
the details....

Alex

Subject: [JAVA3D] Streaming video as texture

Hello,
I believe there was an interest in streaming video from one terminal to
another and displaying the video in a Java3D scene. The 3 components to
do this (1-capture and stream video 2-receive video stream and 3-
display video stream in Java3D) has already been done and is made
available in JMF Solutions website
(http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/).
I have pieced them up together to make one application that on one
terminal captures video, streams it and on another terminal receives it
and displays it as a texture on a cylinder in Java3D. I can provide
anyone interested with the code. If j3d.org is interested they can take
the code as well.
  Thanks.

                                                                Mojtaba
