I have more or less the same system as you. It won't be much comfort to
you but I don't get the same problem as you. I have several thousand
polygons which rotate quite smoothly at the highest resolution. However
when I switch on anti-aliasing the rate goes down to say 1 frame/10
secs.

My driver date is 21/09/2001. My max resolution is 1050x1400
