You're on the wrong list. :)

What you are now asking about is a Forte and NetBeans feature
called 'auto-completion'. This really has nothing to do with
Java or Java3D.

The best place to ask would be [EMAIL PROTECTED]

But since I use Forte and NetBeans my self I can answer your question:

As far as allowing the compiles to succeed when you use classes
in other .jar files: If those .jars are installed in the JRE's
lib/ext directory Forte and NetBeans will find them fine when the
compiler is run. If on the other hand they are located somewhere
else, you need to 'mount' the Jar file as a filesystem in your
project. You can do this by right clicking on the word 'filesystems'
in the explorer window. Mounting Jar's and Directories in Forte
or NetBeans causes the program to add them to your Classpath when
it runs the compiler or JVM for you.

The 'auto-completion' functionality works by reading in what
Forte calls it's Parser database. The parser DB needs to be updated
for each new Jar file you add. This needs to be done no matter
where the Jar file is located. Unfortunately to update the DB
you need to 'mount' the Jar file in your project. So for the
Jar's in lib/ext you need you mount them, update the DB, and then
optionally unmount them.

Updating the Parser DB, can be done by right clicking on the Jar
file and choosing 'update parser db' (it may be under the 'tools'
submenu.) I would recommend you change the parserDB prefix in the
window that comes upso that you have a separate parserDB file for
each jar (I just use the jar filename.) In previous versions, using
the default name overwrote the old contents with the new, but I
think they've fixed that. Even so I still make separate files.
