Dave (et alter), for removing unwanted software, try RegCleaner form http://www.jv16.org/ I found it very useful and friendly. Tools/Registry Cleanup/Do them all will find out 'leftovers', To get rid of a software, go to the main interface and just choose and delete whatever you don't want in your system.
