I succeeded running it under Linux. It turned out the screen resolution had nothing to do with it. It was the return of -1 for the color depth (see log above) that kept it from going. If you comment out the corresponding line in com.machiatto.outOfSpace.gameMain.GameMain#GetBestDisplayMode the game starts, even in 1280x1024 resolution. Some files in oosAppContent are not found due to wrong cases in the filenames, but i could fix this with some symlinks.
