If you read my post to this list on 23 June 2003 you'd know
that I am plenty unhappy with Sun too. But at least Sun
wanted platform independence and just didn't execute very
well when it came to Java3D. M$ is doing everything they can
to prevent platform independence. Like I said in my recent
column:

For non-monopolies, the best technical decision is generally
the best business decision. For monopolies however, the best
business decision is often to supress the best technical
decision.
