I agree with Josh. The coolest feature of Java3D is the scenegraph concept. Scenegraph is very elegant OO way do to 3D, and there are some cool 3D APIs using it as IDX3D, Anfy and the upcoming Xith3 ( https://xith3d.dev.java.net/) Some guys from Sun told us that Sun is and will continue support Java3D, and also I note there is a new guy in the support (Chien Yang).
