Hello! I also would like to be able to do that, and have searched the net for it but not find anything that tells me how to solve it. So I guess that it is not possible.....
...but at http://www.eyeone.no/ (> Spill & Moro >) they have a game called Burning Metall 3D (java applet) that acctually runs just using the default JVM in Internet Explorer. For me this is a mystery how they have developed this excelent applet. But in some way they have managed to do it! If you test it, be sure you use the default JVM in your browser. For me it doesn't work if I use a newer plugin.
