First, here are wishes for happy and contented holidays for all those having them to celebrate. Second, the latter point raises the question of future hack-management. Do you suppose JAVA3D-INTEREST will be the hub for hacking information? Do you suppose special-interest hack groups will form up on SourceForge? What do you suppose Sun's expectations/attitude/behavior will be to hacks? Do you suppose that X3D's headstart will squeeze out other interests. Are there any significant interests competing with Sun's or X3D? Is there anything we should be discussing here that could help the developer community later? AFAIC, the development and proliferation of Java 3D applications has suffered from the standards FUD, and proliferation of hacks is going to be no improvement - just different FUDs. Personally, I hope some notion of a 'standard' version is maintained. Waddyathink?
