Also, in some ways, the idea that some lowly customer service rep can destroy tens of thousands of euors in value just because they were having a bad day, and there's no official recourse to challenge this service rep's decision - that's probably even worse. In other news, apparently the first android phone is going to be available mid-october (thanks BoD!) so there's hope! NB: I would bet good money that apple's various exclusivity contracts last only about 3 months, simply because apple's only upside to the exclusivity contracts are to dictate terms and get free advertising from the telco. They'll make the exclusivity contract as short as possible as long as the telco still signs. The telco, in the mean time (especially if apple keeps the length of the contract a secret), doesn't care too much about a 3 months vs. a year of exclusivity; all the early adopters will buy one. Conclusion: 3 months seems like a sweet spot. That would mean exclusivity ends around october 11th. Possibly december 31st. Probably the same day apple holds a conference somewhere. So that's going to be an interesting battle between Android and those who just can't live with the telco that sells iPhones in their country.
