The problem is that it is opt-out - downloading the MSN toolbar is checked by default, so if you just click through the process, you got yourself a new toolbar. As the Inquirer points out, that probably got Sun more money, although Eric "We'll put Java on the iPhone" Klein from Sun claimed otherwise first (http://www.theregister.co.uk/ 2008/11/10/sun_stows_ms_search_on_java). In my mind, Sun has a bad history of bundling its own products (Netbeans, OpenOffice, Glassfish) with the JDK to increase market share for said items.
