Any certification (or education) is only worth as much as you can get something out of it. If it makes you a better architect, then go for it. If you need it to get a promotion, definitely. If it will help you make more money, get a better job, or some other advancement, it is worth it.
Many in this group though would derive no value from their employer by having the certification. It won't help them get a better job. After some point your job experience and recommendations make a much bigger difference. So the bottom line is whether you are going to get some benefit from having the certification. If so, then do it. Otherwise, find something else that will get you to where you want to go.
