Hi Paul There was no taboo subject surrounding the Linux version of JavaFX. This interview was recorded on the same day as the launch announcement at Devoxx (even though it is being released only now) and at the time we did not know that it wasn't yet available for Linux.
In the meantime we have talked about the lack of a Linux version on the podcast, and also that it does work (with minimal effort and sans video) on Linux. Indeed, I have 1.0 working on my own Linux machine and will upgrade to 1.1 as soon as I have the chance. I have had more luck with compatibility of applications in the Linux version of JavaFX than I have with Mono (the linux version of .NET) and it was easier to set up as well (at least easier than setting up Mono 2.0 with monodevelop). This does not mean I don't care about getting a fully supported Linux version, but if you want to use it now really it is not that hard.
