If anyone is going to purchase Sun, this does make sense...and I think it is going to be good for Java. Oracle has been a huge advocate of Java technologies. I'm not sure how it fares for MySQL, although in looking at Oracle's past they will probably just continue to maintain MySQL as an open-source database.
