So you are NOT claiming that Sun is circumventing the JCP by developing the Jigsaw module system for JDK7 in an OpenJDK project. That's good. I know you would not do such a thing. The understanding held by observers of complex topics often comes down to a general feeling or perception, which can be skewed by offhand comments meant for those "in the know". > So perhaps (like the original topic on this thread) it simply comes down to > a general feeling or perception. The 294 observer list can be posted to by observers so that their comments do not get lost on personal blogs, unrelated mailing lists, etc. It is not surprising that, occasionally, observers will post a view supporting one aspect of the EG discussion or another. > But I recognize those particular emails didn't come from the expert group > or Sun, and I hope that JSR 294 can help clarify that it is very much alive > and in control of the process. There are very important issues at stake in 294 and EG members are doubtless consulting widely within their organizations. My recent questions to the authors of the Simple Module System proposal are intended to light up the road ahead where the proposal is rather brief. As Peter Kriens said, "please bear with us and allow the EG to do its work".
