Yeah and also makes sure you can not install apps which: - duplicate functionality (browser, messenger, podcast client) - do not conform strictly to Steve's HIG - provides alternative communication (SIP/LAN) - tethers - pushes a political agenda - mentions competing phones Do you really believe Apple does this just to protect you? It's fine by me if you prefer this model.
