I think that the XML thing is indeed subjective. It doesn't bother me, indeed; an advantage of JavaFX is the direct binding from UI to code, which in Android needs the infamous 'int' constants (even though they could have been made not int, but this is another story).
Back to the original topic, JavaFX in place of the Android XML would be great. If it used the standard Android widgets I don't think that Google would be bothered (we know that they, on the contrary, prevented Sun from a direct port of JavaFX that was ready as a prototype).
