Granted, we in the Euro zone surely live in a more protected
(regulated, socialized and unionized) world i.e. Walmart could never
work where I live. But I do think you are over-generalizing here;
while I have a fixed 6 month severance, a Canadian friend of mine has
12 months for pretty much the same job.
